NEWSLETTER OF THE OPENMP ARB
Edition: February 2004

This is the monthly newsletter of the OpenMP Architecture Review
Board. It is based on the discussions in the OpenMP ARB conference
calls of the previous month, and on current activities in the
world of OpenMP. You can find general OpenMP-related links
at the tail of the newsletter.

* Deadline for WOMPAT extended abstracts is March 12.

WOMPAT 2004 is planned for May 17-20, 2004 in Houston, TX. The
deadline for extended abstracts is March 12, 2004. The web site is
http://www.tlc2.uh.edu/wompat2004/. There will be a
workshop on May 17-18, and an OpenMP lab session on May 19-20.

* Merge of OpenMP Fortran, C, and C++ specifications is progressing.

The OpenMP Language committee is arduously working on merging the
Fortran, C, and C++ language specifications. Recent discussions
concern internal control variables, scheduling, and the WORKSHARE
directive. The discussions concern only the presentation of the
specifications, and there will be no change in either syntax or
semantics.

* PDP2004 took place on Feb 11-13 in La Coruna, Spain.

The Twelfth Euromicro Conference covers all the fields of
high-performance computing, from the end-user applications to new
scientific results in architectures, models and languages. The
conference provides a forum for the presentation of all the issues
related to parallel, distributed and network computing. The program
can be consulted on: http://pdp2004.des.fi.udc.es.
