NEWSLETTER OF THE OPENMP ARB

This is the monthly newsletter of the OpenMP Architecture Review
Board. It is based on the discussions in the OpenMP ARB conference
calls of the previous month, and on current activities in the
world of OpenMP. You can find general OpenMP-related links

* The OpenMP Resources web page has been updated

The OpenMP resources web page has been updated with sections on
OpenMP Tool Interfaces and on OpenMP Tool Interface
Implementations. Vendor details have been updated. Please go to:
http://www.openmp.org/index.cgi?resources

* WOMPAT 2004 is due to start on May 17

WOMPAT 2004 is planned for May 17-20, 2004 in Houston, TX. The web
site is http://www.tlc2.uh.edu/wompat2004/. There will be a
workshop on May 17-18, and an OpenMP lab session on May 19-20.

* Merge of OpenMP Fortran, C, and C++ specifications is progressing.

Recent discussions were on the subjects of private, shared, and flush,
and on the persistence of threadprivate data in nested constructs.

The discussions concern only the presentation of the specifications,
and there will be no change in either syntax or semantics.

New SPEC OMP2001 and HPC2002 results are continually being published.
Both benchmark suites contain OpenMP code, and test OpenMP compilers.
